UTC Roof Terrace
The Unit Trust Corporation’s Head Office in Port of Spain sought to transform unused rooftop space into a relaxing terrace for employees. The proposed design reimagines the space as a multifunctional retreat, carefully divided into three distinct yet cohesive zones: a cozy lounge area, an inviting dining space and a stylish bar section.
Rooted in regenerative design principles, the terrace blends natural elements with urban functionality, creating a restorative environment within the city’s core. Thoughtfully integrated shading solutions ensure the space remains comfortable and usable in all weather conditions for casual staff lunch breaks or official corporate gatherings. Strategically positioned, the terrace captures panoramic views of the capital — from the bustling harbour to the serene mountain range beyond the neighbouring rooftops. Altogether, the intervention enhances the workplace environment, fostering connection, relaxation and holistic well-being.
